I am finally done with my first paper!
Now I can make aaaaart again! *dances around*
Art that starkad will never add to the site...I am starting to suspect that this guy doesn't know where to find the reply button for mails. 
*dances around again*
I find some beautiful Japanese woodprints during the research for my paper and I want to make them into pretty backgrounds. I'd love to just use them as they are as they are so beautiful, but I can't just steal art, so I will have to redraw them.

Ohh wow! That's lovely! Beautiful in green too. XD I'm so excited!! I hope Starkad won't be too busy to add things when you're done.
As for the Japanese prints... I assume you mean the Hokusai ones? Those would be awesome. I love Hokusai. :3 Recently picked up a sketchbook that has "The Great Wave" on the cover. I'd totally get one that's like The Great Wave if you make it. XD

No, I don't even mean the Hokusai ones, the ones I mean were modern ones from the 20th century made by various rather unknown artists. I am really into modern prints, much more than into the ones from masters like Hokusai. Too bad you never learn about them in Art History...as they aren't old enough to count as history.
In fact I don't even like Hokusai's prints that much, but don't tell anyone or my art history teachers will kill me... 
It seems to be like blasphemy when you say you aren't into Hokusa's art.

And yeah, I agree about the art history thing, though I did love my art history classes. There's a lot of more modern work that gets overlooked.
And it's fine if you don't like Hokusai's work. XD Not everyone will like it!
I like woodblock prints in general though, so I'm sure I'll like whatever it inspires you to do. XD There's something about them... I dunno... I just like them. D:
