Thanks guys. He was cool, and super mellow.

I read the original Beauty and the Beast (years ago) and I don't remember abuse in it.
Spoiler
If I remember right in the original story it was a fairy who enchanted him because he refused her advances. The original beast was a gentleman and Beauty willingly took her father's place, but Daddy was a sleep and didn't know it until it was too late. The beast "died" of a broken heart because she didn't return from visiting her family in time. And I think she admitted to loving him and it brought him back or something and into his human form.
It's been so long. I'm like going off the top of my head. I think there's a version where another fairy comes and claims that Beauty is the daughter of her sister which makes the Queen agree to their marriage. I dunno. XD The king kicked the bucket so the Queen went to war and left her son with a fairy, who cursed him.
I found this: Stockholme Syndrome in Disney
I wish I found this sooner, it explains it better than what I find online. Figures huh?

Would the Hunchback really be stockholm? I mean he was raised by the guy.. that's more of grooming (not in a pervy way) more than stockholm.

Kinda the same with Tangled.. she was kidnapped as a baby and raised to believe that she was the mother...

There's a version of Beauty and the Beast out there when she had 2 brothers and 2 or 3 sisters.. and one of those brothers was a great hunter. The father was a merchant and had to go away on business with promises to bring back gifts for the kids, Belle had requested a Rose instead of dresses and trinkets like her sisters.

I forget if the ship he was on sank or something but he came across the Beasts Garden and picked a rose from one of the rose bushes and it got him into trouble with the beast (theft!) and .. Belle offered to take his place..

the hunting specialist brother wanted to save his sister from the horrid beast .. I can't really remember how the rest went but I just kept thinking "OMG, Disney tried to get her brother to marry her!! Gaston is soo totally her brother!" xD

The Hunchback loved who he saw as his father.
The only person that was ever "kind" to him.
Just like how children love their parents and their parents are horrible to them.
Because they're their parents.
My great aunt is a terrible person who messed up my mom's life and got away with it, but part of me loves her still because she's family.

I agree with DK on Tangled.

I don't remember the original Beauty and the Beast but I know it was dark and not like the Disney version.

It just showed those three 8u

Also, people talk about princes kissing princesses while they're asleep is bad too.
I guess they'd rather the princesses never wake up u8

I dunno. People are confusing when it comes to Disney.

I only know of about two versions. The original and an alternate one.

I dunno. I didn't think it was really dark, but it was messed up a bit so there's that. It's not like anyone was raped or murdered that I can remember. I know the original Sleeping Beauty dealt with rape and Rapunzel, who never had contact outside of Dame Gothel (what she was originally called) had sex with the prince. I don't know if it was rape, but she was naive and he took advantage of that. In the original Sleeping Beauty had a splinter in her finger and Snow White had a piece of apple stuck in her throat. Once removed they awoke.

Ugh. I've been an emotional wreck today. And I'm mad at my brother because he doesn't have his boys reading at home or watching something educational once in awhile. Normally, I wouldn't care but one of my nephews kept claiming a bird's nest could be a bee hive instead. Then he gets annoyed when Joslyn corrects him. And I explain that it was a bird's nest and that she is right. I'm not going to stop my daughter from being smart, just because it annoys her cousins. I can't wait for my nieces and nephew to be home from NY. Alice is really smart too so they'd be able to talk about that sort of thing. And Alice is the same age as the twins, 7. She'll be 8 this month.

Will Smith is gonna be in some new ones that Disney+ is putting out about earth

They don't come over. They're a bit too rowdy for Mom. My sister's kids are better behaved. Also my nephews are drama queens. Hunter wanted to go back home to get his water bottle for PE, and though they live across the alley from us, I couldn't let him because I didn't want him missing the bus. He started crying. We were on the porch to stay warm, so I asked Joslyn to go inside and get one of our water bottles for him.

Ugh!!!

DC, you reminded me of this conversation my bestie had with these little girls when I was in school.
They were playing with a bird feather and he told them that bird feathers have germs and they need to wash their hands.
The little girl turned to her friend and said "-scoffs- -rolls eyes- He doesn't know what he's talking about let's go! -walks off-"
He just stared at me with his mouth open xD

When she was younger, I told my sister that knowledge is power.
I told her to always learn and never remain ignorant.
I also told her to outwit people who are insulting her.

Ah, I don't know a lot about little boys but they seem harder to deal with than little girls?
I mean until they hit their teens and they're all equally assholes 8u
