Well, today was definitely a day that proved a few things to me. Found out only through a cousin that found it in the local paper that my Great uncle passed away wednesday. Not a single person called me or my mother when it happened, they left it to the paper to tell anyone. I knew that things were not that great between us lately because they had not been calling or anything to us for the past couple of years, but i honestly would have expected a little respect to let us know considering we could have easily not told them at all when my grandmother passed away since she had been not talking to her younger brothers for years at that point(my great uncle was the middle child of my grandmother's family, she was the eldest and there was one other son, all 3 now have passed away.

Sorry to basically post this in here, but it's been on my mind for the past several hours, and I can't post it on my FB without a former classmate seeing it and making it a huge deal to other classmates.(I don't get along with most of my former classmates due to many of them having some rather nasty attitudes. Truth be told i have no idea why she felt the need to add me as is, but was trying to be polite and not outright refuse the invite)

*hugs back* Thanks Tam, I really needed it off my chest last night because I had really only two options, waiting for Keith to get back online in the morning or saying it here(and he already knew because I got the text from my mother after she got texted by the cousin when i was talking to him on the phone) As much as I'd love to let off into my aunt and other cousins about it, I don't want to start a fight with them especially right now, and honestly I think I'm starting to feel the same way my grandmother did about that side of the family, not worth getting involved with.

Welcome. Honestly... I don't know any of the people I'm related to. None of them. So I'm not going to think you're weird for not talking to parts of your birth family.
