Cat, bettas are pretty easy to take care of. You really don't need a 5 gal tank for one either. They do really well in much smaller environments. Of course if you have a proper aquarium with a filter and such it cuts down on the frequency of water changes.

No sunken ships D: those are scary! even the fish tank ones ;-;
