Hm... I find that self-examination is the best cure for depression.
Socrates definitely knew what he was saying when he said that "an unexamined life is not worth living."
But apart from self-examination, spending time with other people helps a lot. The relationships one has can really give a person enough strength to withstand his problems in life.

I just like to think about it, I listen to music and go over everything That`s happened to me. But sometimes, it gets to the point where I start to think about doing things that might hurt myself or other peoples. In that case, I usually just surround myself with people and get my mind off of it. Music really helps though, if you don't want to talk about it.

Depression has been a huge issue for me. I'm currently 18 and have been struggling since I turned 15. I'm not sure about other people, but I tend to go into "gray phases" when I stop caring about things and become suicidal. Talking to a councilor helps me, but I'm also on medication. When I was first diagnosed it didn't come in phases. It wasn't until about 2 years later that I started experiencing that. I had been on a stable 40mg of Fluoxitine (Prosac), but about a month ago I started taking prescription Lamictal and Abilify as stabilizers. I think it's helped some, but I can't be sure so soon. I also tried Welbutrin, but immediately had negative side effects and (due to a gray phase and the ability of the pills) was going to overdose, but instead just took 5x my prescribed dose. Having someone there for you makes a big difference. If my younger sister hadn't been the one to get my pills for me and ask if they would hurt me, I might not be here. Hopefully this helped you some. :)

Naps. Chocolate. A nice hot bubble bath. Beating up monsters in video games help, too. :3

Well i always try to talk it out with somebody. this always helps. if i dont feel like talking i try to solve it with any small things that make you happy. like.
sleep. play something. cook your favourite dish. Go out.
Whatever i do i always search for good company. i mean, i want somebody who i trust and love around me. try to distract yourself. try to find anything in the next weeks you look forward to. so the time goes by faster. in any case: i always avoid to be alone. if i feel sad and i'm alone, it wont get better. just do anything. go out.
ah, and music, of course.
thats the way i deal with being depressed :D

exercise! Exercise is natural way to fight depression. It helps keep the chemicals balanced. Exercise first. Then if it doesn't seem to help you may need see a doctor. Mild depression can easily be managed with exercise.

I eat my favorite food while listening to loud music or watching comedic animes. When I'm seriously overly depressed, I cry aloud to help me externalize and then I do the things I said before to get my good mood back.
But I think the things you do in this type of situation depend on the person you are. I think you should just try to do the things you like the most and keep your mind busy with them till your mood gets better.
