what happens to the spare bat points we have when the event is over? do they keep until the next year? or do we have to spend them all so that we don't lose any?
I don't have the money to buy faerie coins unfortunately so I won't buy a bat, but for those that do if the points keep will they just have this huge stockpile of bat points by the time the next year's event comes around or do they only gain more points from it during the days of the event?

The bats are just for this year's event. You cannot keep any for any future events. It's not even likely that the next year's even currency will be bats again.

The bat is mostly an item for people who do not have time / do not want to spend the time / do not enjoy taking part in the actual event, but still want the items. If you just collect bats from it every day, you won't have any huge stockpile of bats, since you will need them to buy the event items.

I added the bat to my room, but didn't get the bats for today. Will it happen later on or something?

As it says in the description at the store, you get the bats after 24h have passed with the bat item equipped.

I'm so excited about the event! the items look amazing!

This event is awesome! I love the color scheme for the items. Usually I avoid shades of Pink like the plague but I'm buying everything in both colors this time. Kinda wish the room items came in another color as well but the striped flooring is still a must have.

I really like that we can over achieve and get more currency and play to our strengths with this event. Great job!
