I had no idea how to wear them until people mentioned those tecniques. And then people in this challenged managed to pull off beautiful avatars without that trick.

Yes, that's what I love about these contests too. It's way more challenging than the official contest because you have certain kind of restrictions - be it an item, a theme, whatever.

Hey, why don't you host one yourself? It's cool too!

I have an idea though but I'm not familiar with the process.
Would a monochrome theme work ? Not monochrome-monochrome but like "pinkS" or "greenS" ? (like this one is light sand + cream, the colours blend well imo, I left out all the items with mixed blue or green for example)



I don't have much to offer for the prizes so I guess it'll be 20-15-10k if enough people walk in, or 30-15 if not ?


(Also maybe couldn't you start your thread for contests where you could have a little control over the title and such ? I'm used to see that thread around but I just don't pop up and check on what's happening? I thought it was a old-general-talk-thingy, didn't know it was something actually still going on^^ maybe a few of us are in that case too ? It doesn't look like Charstar is still around to run it either ?)

I don't think prize makes much of a difference to be honest.
I'm quite sure people would join even if there was no prize at all.

Maybe we should create a completely new thread, only for contests?

The caravan's gone so I think that leaves you some days to create a new contest thread, I'm not sure we'll see that much people around in the meantime ;)

You're right about the prize money too... I don't care about it as I have enough to offer some XD but if someone wants to host and has no money it can be a problem... shouldn't be mandatory (I don't know if it was in this thread though)

Would you like hosting the first contest with your monochrome theme?

Honestly the times I've hosted I don't even do prizes, I do things like "Use this item in your avatar" contest and then give out winner's choice of color of that item (maybe 3 for winner and 2 for 2nd place and 1 for runner up).
Or I've done giving apples and cupcakes to winners.
I even have some knuffels named "Prize" stored up to use as prizes sometime.

It doesn't have to be prizes.

I'm just not sure I trust myself to remember and come back and judge and give out the prizes, so....

Well, if we create a completely new contest we could set our own rules regarding everything.
Not just prices, but how they are judged... or even if they are judged at all.

There's also nothing to say we have to only have one thread; we could create a new one for every contest someone wants to host, and change the rules every time.

That would actually be a great idea. I know from experience that just entering a thread with already over 3k pages can be daunting.
And I have been here for ages, just lurking about. :}
