I didn't play many games with my parents unless it was board games. The games I used to play as a kid were: The original Super Mario Bros. Super Mario GamerBoy, SEGA's Sonic, Sonic 2, Sonic 3, Nights into Dreams, and Duck Hunt. I found out a few years ago that in Duck Hunt the second player could control the ducks. Now every so often I like to tell my older brother about it. I also say: "See Bro? If you let me play when we were kids, we would have found that out. But nooooo...you didn't let me play."
I refuse to let him live it down. XD

I'm too tired to list the games I played when I begame a teen and an adult.

My dad's very good at tetris. He used to use his game skills to stack pallets at work. Now that he's no longer there, any old coworker who sees him has told him it's a big freaking mess.

Wait... second player controls the ducks? what? I did not know this and I had that game!!!

Duck Hunt (nearly called it dick hunt.. those ducks were total dicks >:x)


I got these a few years later from a friend
Battle Toads
Excite Bike (or whatever.. its free on the switch as are a few of these titles)



If I went over to Cassandra's place, we'd play Super Mario Bros 3.. and I think the other one is 2.. could be Yoshi's world.. i forget.. its on switch now tho..

Then Tammy had the Sega so that's where I played Sonic. xD


Out of ALL of that, mom only played: Super Mario Bros. Super Mario Bros. 3 (And that other one I mentioned) and Concentration... oh! and tetris!


OHHH! Bill! Mom's friend (ex boyfriend but remained friends) had a game system.. forget what one it was but he had Clue on it. ovo I loved playing that version.. as I really had no one to play board games with unless they were super easy like Trouble

Mom wasn't good at board games.. we had Trouble and Candy Land.. and Shoots and Ladders too..
We had scrabble but she couldn't spell (4th grade reading education) so she hated that.. Oh! Checkers! We played lots of checkers ovo

But yea.. Clue and Monopoly were the types that I prefer in video game form against AIs >->

Awwww. Don't worry, DC, we still love you. And I would have been just sick over a loss like that.

I had taken her out of the tank the other night, but she had moved a bit so I figured she was just doing one of those 1-3 day nerite hibernations... so I put her back in the tank... but...

It was upside down again and another snail .. it seemed to be nomming at Gomera.. QnQ


Got my teeth cleaned today and a tiny cavity filled. That went soo much better than I was expecting >W<

@Moi: I didn't have a SEGA either. It was my brother's. When he was out on dates at night, I would get Mom's permission to sneak into his room and play. XD
The Nintendo was also my brother's so I played very little. He got jealous that I surpassed him in Super Mario GameBoy. XD

Other games that I've played: Monopoly, Clue, Life, some Ancient Egyptian themed game that I can't remember the name of. I ended up loosing and so I just moved Ammut around the board while Mom and Sis continued. Cause someone had to win. So I kept moving and saying, "Ammut is coming for you!" Every time I moved her. Creeped out my sister. XD Let's see: 13 dead end drive, Jak and Dextar, Zelda Ocarina of time, Majora's mask, Crash Bandicoot 2, Shoots and Latters, Candy Land, Sorry, Trouble, and a game the school set home with Joslyn called Are you ready for 5th Grade? and Risk. I think that's it. Oh and I had that dorky fishing game, where you get a fishing rod with a magnet and you well, fish. lol

@DK: Awww...that's a bummer.

Glad it wasn't as bad. I need to get my teeth fixed, but I gotta get a dentist that takes medicaid.

I'm feeling a bit in a slump. Ugh. Energy...I need it...

Mom's teeth were already rotting and some needed removed by the time I was 8... so compared to her, I think I do fine.

OH! When I was a toddler there was Hungry Hungry Hippo! x'D I loved that one too death.

Mom taught me how to play go fish and solitaire too o3o

Ah. Joslyn loves Sorry. Joslyn, Mom and I somehow would end up playing for an hour or so because we'd all go through the trouble to go after each other. XD We'd also count the spaces between to see if the number would let us get the other. Dad would just go about his business ignoring us.

I think all kids learn go fish, uno and old maid first. I taught my daughter 21 and poker. Yeah. I'm totally a great role model. lmao She's good at poker and she beats me at it often. One time we were playing Go fish and I only had like three cards without pairs and she had all three cards I needed, so I won that game. Happened like one or two more times after that. And when I shuffle cards, I do it for about a minute, so they were really mixed up.

I might have had Hungry Hungry Hippo, but I don't remember. I've played Solitaire too. I think my mom taught it to me, so I didn't bug her. XD

I forget how Old Maid went, but I do know its NOTHING like how they play it in anime. xD

I never seen it in animes. What you do is match up cards kinda like go fish it's best to have more than two people playing. But you also need an odd card to be the old maid. Unless you have an Old Maid card set that has a card designated as the old maid. Any ways, you match up what's already in your hand. Then you go clockwise picking a card from the person to your "left" and try to match up your cards. The point of the game is not to end up with the old maid at the end. We have a card set that has an old cat lady as the old maid. It's funny, cause Mom picked it out. She's our resident crazy cat lady. XD Whenever one of us has only two cards and one is the old maid, we put the cards out of site in order to mix them up to see if someone gets it. We can almost go an entire hour just doing that. lol It's so much fun!

That there sounds like the way it was in the anime. o3o They always use the Joker for the 'old maid' card.

The old maid i was taught was basically the Memory game on here but with all the poker cards.. (minus jokers)



In black jack, the goal is to get your cards to equal the number 21. Aces can be 1 or 11. K,Q,J are all 10. So if your first 2 cards equal 21, that's black jack. But if they are below 16, you say "hit me" to have a card dealt to you. If the total goes over 21, its bust, if it's under or equal to 21, you stay and don't ask for more cards.


The Yakuza games have gambling dens.. and the one place had the card gambling games... Poker, Texas Hold'em, Black Jack.. and there was 1 more (they even had a roulette table xD) ... Took me FOREVER to get what I needed from the card games except Black Jack.. I rocked that game so hard. o3o
