Oops! Sorry I forgot about this. I don't think there was a movie but there were games. It didn't start as a game, though.

Um... I can't remember quite well... I seem to remember it was things that gave you temporary... thing... but I can't remember if they ever got to permanent state that you could tap into at will or not. It began with something that gave you a temporary thing that I'm not sure really falls under super powers.
