I'm expecting cases to surge here, shortly. There's a lot of people planning on celebrating in groups for Noel and I can't imagine they'll all be taking sufficient precautions...

Same, and then there's the New Year.
And before that people have been travelling more and going out to eat more, though it seems the groups are smaller than before.

In the meantime I haven't been able to see family since 2018.
I almost regretted not booking the tickets to fly to France and see them this year and then omicron happened and I don't regret it anymore ^^

Yeah with the holidays approaching, I’m not really surprised about cases going up with ppl travelling more.

Last year cases have surged just before the New Year. People had been travelling more sure but mostly people just got tested before coming back to their families causing a larger number of tests to be done and thus more tests coming back positives. Probably will happen this year too.

Yeah when people start travelling and going to other places, the chances of getting infected, even with the vaccine, are much higher.

Yep. That's exactly what I'm anticipating happening.

I really hope that by this time the professionals are also anticipating this and have made appropriate preparations so we aren't caught off-guard by it!

well i don't travel much anyway, so i'm gonna stay indoors as much as possible lol.

And I'm going to use the situation to avoid the in-laws ^^

What? You hope administrations and goverments are being responsible and acting in a professional manner, having in mind only the best for the population?
