I’ve tried growing lotus and failed. Every time. Lol. I only get the leaves. XD

Yes, that's the plant. Mine was accidentally bonsaied because of the lack of space I had, though the poor baby never gave up and would shoot her leaves out longer every time I managed to get her into a slightly bigger pot.

no i grow it outdoors. some years i'll bring it in during the winter, altho i didn't this year bc last year, my mom complained about the bugs that came out from it lol. bc gnats and other bugs would lay their eggs in the water/soil and then grow and hatch when its warm. and its warm indoors. so i'll probably have to replant next year lol. its only a small pot but its only given me leaves and nothing else. xD

Hmm. I wonder if you have enough of a growing season for flowers.

I'm not coughing anymore, and I don't seem to have germs anymore, but that upper respiratory thing is still kicking my aft. I had to cut a trip to West Edmonton mall for Build a Bear clothes and yummy food because I felt like I was going to fall over. And at one point in the BaB shop, I nearly did because of something like vertigo!

Because I know in my part of Canada sweet potato plants grow really well, but we don't have enough days of sun for them to make tubers. I was wondering if it might be a similar thing for lotus. Or maybe they needed a bigger pot?

I vote for bringing 'em in. Just repot them so there's less bugs hiding. Plants with more years under their belts are more likely to bloom, too.
