I never really win those contests. I don't like cluttered avatars and people tend to vote for the ones that have a lot going on in them. I also don't have a lot of items with the same color scheme.

Yup.
I win like once every year.
I get so many compliments, and a lot of the time I don't even place at all.
Yes, cluttered ones win often. Aki and I have discussed our dislike for winners.
I see really plain ones place, and really nice ones either place low or not at all.
I don't understand xD
