It was "feels like -36C" today. So of course today was the day that I had appointments to walk to. Everything was fine other than a bit of discomfort on my face...

Til I got a hot flash.

Let me tell you, the only thing worse than being outside in a parka and layers on a cold day is HOT FLASHING inside the parka and layers on a cold day!

I took a picture out the window at the chiropractor's office, and realized someone had drawn a heart in the snow where I was aiming the phone.

It was pretty nicely shaped, too.

Things are melting here now. I spent around half an hour today using a sponge to clear the lake out of the window. Got an ice cream pailful of water out. I'll have to do more moping in there tomorrow.

Today, there was this scary sounding crash. I looked for the source of the sound and found that the snow from the top units roof had fallen into our yard. It was crazyyy.

That reminds me of when I accidentally scared the scrap out of a friend who lives in the desert part of Texas by showing her videos of snow coming off roofs, and trains going through massive snow drifts.

We had some very, very sparse snowflakes the other day and I saw a snowflake for real for the first time. Yeah, we've gotten snow regularly over the years, but clumpy wet blobby snow that looks like what you get after scraping your windshield. This super dry powdery stuff made the most beautiful little crystals.

Annnnnd right now I keep smelling burning cat fur because two of my cats want to rest RIGHT AGAINST the space heater. Keep having to shoo them away from it.

Oh right. I never thought of snow quality when my friend in Louisiana was sending pictures, but that wasn't wet snow either. ...Part of me wants to say neat, but I know it's not neat for people who aren't used to it.

The water's been off in my apartment since yesterday afternoon. No warning, no explanation.
