akili: ooh.. :o i've never thought about it like that!

well, take your time! juggling your projects AND having to socialize is tiring xD

and i totally understand with introversion. i'm an extrovert in real life, but many of my friends are introverts, some a bit more than others. getting an invitation turned down isn't because we're hated xD

hotarla: oh gosh, that'd be me. i hate it when i have to ask what my friend said multiple times, but i don't want to laugh and hope it wasn't a question... because what if it was a question :mcargh:

we all don't like something about our jobs lol

Yeahhh short term memories much? XD i swear, if i don’t physically write it down with a pen/pencil and paper, i will literally forget. XD;; because the muscle memory will make me remember “oh i wrote something down, i should remember it”. I’m a visual/kinetic learner, i have to see something done and do it a few times before i can remember.

And yeah like when someone asks me to do something, l hate to have to ask multiple questions because it would seem like i don’t know what I’m doing? Even though that’s true? But like, i don’t want to come off as stupid. But really, how am i supposed to learn how to do something without experience and time? XD so if you’re instructions aren’t clear enough, i flounder like a fish. XD

Got that a lot at my old job.
Instructions were so unclear that there were times when I did too much and some I didn't do enough and then got yelled at anyway.

Glad I quit. XD

That doesn't sound like a healthy working environment, yikes... I'm glad you got out of there.

Nan, it's actually really good to hear you say that. It's very encouraging to know that there are indeed extroverts who get it! Thank you for saying that, that was something that made me happy to read.

Hotarla, I so get that! I do the same thing, writing something down to help remember it, and it's not even so much writing it down to read it again later as it is the act of writing it, in itself, helping to remember.
In fact, in some cases I used to do "air writing" in school when I ran out of blank pages in a notebook and needed to keep taking notes... I'd just lift up my hand and "write" it in the air and look like a total doofus but at least I could remember the lecture better that way. Sometimes the teacher thought I had a question and would call on me and that was embarassing because I'd have to explain what I was doing, but so far I've never died yet of sheer embarassment, and in one case the professor offered to go over it again for me if I brought a new notebook to his office hours, so that worked out really well. He was a nice guy, but then he had to be because I used to babysit for his son and daughter-in-law, and if he wasn't nice to me then I would have complained to them and they'd have given him a lecture! Ha ha ha ha, not the usual thing when people talk about connections I guess, but whatever.

YES YES that's what i mean, just the act of writing it down makes it easier and more helpful in remembering.

i've never air written(?) before lol.

Well, it's not like I set out to do that, but desperation measures and all that...

It wasn't as effective as actually writing, but it was better than nothing.

I've also found that if it's really important, writing it with my offhand is even better, because I have to concentrate more, so it sort of *sticks* more.

Okay that made no sense I should go take a nap and get some brain back.

XD hahahah!
yeah i dunno, i guess i thought it would look silly to air write or whatever. maybe i'd "write" with my fingers or something on the table...xD;;

Actually, air writing is pretty common. At least in Japan. When I ask how to write something everyone writes that kanji in the air. Which is not very helpful.

But yeah, writing them over and over again is how you're supposed to remember kanji so I guess writing things down does help.

I did that at work with the year change to 2022, so I wouldn't write the old year on the patient charts by accident.
>.<
Wrote out the date with the new year for every work day in 2022 just to get used to it.
Worked too! Haven't yet messed up with it -watch as I get it wrong the very next chance though.
