This is actually my 2nd time being selected for jury duty, first time i got out of it because the courthouse was 7 miles away and I had no ride, and there weren't any buses that went to there. I just moved but within the same town and county a few months ago, but they don't care if you only move a few streets.

I moved two hours away for both times, so I was lucky. :mcheh: Do you have a means to get there? If not can't you do the same thing again?

Courthouse this time is about 6-7 blocks away, so even if I didn't have a ride(though I do this time) they'd still say i could walk.

Also this is the 2nd time during my duty that i've had to go in, I went in on the 1st as well, I just really dislike it because even if you aren't part of the 25 people initially selected to be talked to, they still make you sit there until they have the selected jury done(I was unfortunatly one of the 25 selected last time, and I"m hoping they don't do that to me yet again) Luckily I was the only one of my row last time that didn't get selected for that jury.

I hope you don't get selected again as well. x'D I wonder if the process for choosing one would be the same as a show I like. :mcconf:

Might vary from area to area, but if you want to tell me what the show you saw did for it(in pm), i can tell you if it's similar or not.

Oh, it was Medium and they were based in Arizona, and I watched it on netflix. XD I think the state or whatever picked a bunch of people, the Attorney picks their choices from that, and the defendant lawyer can reject up to three and pick some of their own to put in the jury, which the Attorney can pick up to three to reject as well.

It's pretty much like that here at least, though more strikes allowed, it's 6 per lawyer out of a group of 25, but they can auto strike someone out without that counting against them if they feel someone is way too biased(saw that last time on this one kid whose brother is a cop and he was honest and said he was more apt to believe the cop over the defendant, defense attorney had him gone within minutes of that comment)

jury duty sucks....just saying LOL. i was selected once, told them that i would need to be exempt from the proceedings because i had a bias opinion of the law enforcement (aka i think the police are corrupt and the justice system of the states is completely and utterly backwards)

i had to stay for the rest of the day, but they let me be exempt xD

Honestly, I tried to give that point across, and I think they failed to get the hint, I've dealt with too many of the local law inforcement in my state(or at least my previous county i lived in, though the local one I"ve heard isn't any better) and have a very low opinion of them, I even TOLD the procescuter that i was less apt to believe the cop over any actual evidence.

(had to deal with them because of my father sending them to harras my mother and because of the foreclosure, which they were damn lucky I didn't call their superiors or the chief of police for the county because of their stunts of not identifying themselves as police officers but instead just shining flashlights in our home when we had no idea who was at the door, they were showing up after 9 pm at night, and neither of us felt it safe to go near the door.

I'm personally more likely to believe evidence than a cop, my step sister's husband was literally beat up by the cops in their area when he wasn't even causing any trouble. Him and his half brother were at a bar drinking, when his half brother accidentally knocked him off the stool. The barkeep, not knowing anything about them, kicked them out and they went over to his one daughter's house to get a ride home. Well, his half brother was causing a ruckus and getting into a 'yelling' match or something like that, and the neighbor brought out a gun and threatened to shoot him if they didn't leave. So one of the other neighbors called the cops, and when the cops came, instead of telling the half brother to get out of the car, they told my step sister's husband to get out of the car. His first response was "I don't want to cause any trouble so I don't want to get out." They continued to insist that he get out, so he opens the door to get out and they pull him out and beat on him and tasered him three times and not once did he fight back, even while drunk. :/ All the people there are willing to testify in court what happened because that's just wrong, and the camera in the car is being reviewed, but my step sister and her husband are taking the cops to court. And the worst part? The same cops followed them home when my step sister picked him up from the jail. :/
