Can you really buy prescription glasses online though?
I mean, you have to try them on, don't you?

If you already have a valid prescription, yes, you can buy prescription glasses online.
They ask you for a few extra measurements (like distance between your pupils, etc), and most places send you the glasses and you have a short period to try them and return them for free adjustments.
If you have a really expensive prescription, it's best to start by ordering and trying on just the empty frames until you find one you know fits and works for you, and then sending them all back, telling the company which frame you want them to use, and giving them the prescription for the lenses.
I've done it that way before and it was really reasonable, price-wise!

I have no idea because I don't use glasses, but it sounds so extremely complicated!
Maybe it's just because I don't like ordering online xD

I prefer online ordering than in person shopping since there's less interaction that way.

I guess it's a little complicated? But compared to, say, navigating a subway system in a foreign language then it's a piece of cake. And we've all done that at least once, so....
(Is it weird that that's my measure for how hard something is? I feel like that was my first test of "how to adult" though, so I've used it for decades now)

Yeah you can order prescriptions glasses online, i was checking and having a look at frames. I don’t like going out much and, especially during this time, i don’t want to go to a store and try things on….8U on top of that, i think my prescription might be expensive, since one of my eyes has a higher prescription than the other…8U
That thing with you ordering the frames, trying on at home and then sending it back seems like a really great way to do online glasses shopping….8U might try that out…

Can't you try those on virtually? I think I've seen it somewhere. Basically you customize your own face with glasses like you would a video game character. If you could find something like that I guess that'd be the easiest.
Which reminds me I need new glasses too.

yeah you can lol. i've been using my webcam on my laptop and sometimes on my work ipad to get a look at the frames. xD still, its different from actually going to a store and trying it on. xD;;

That's certainly fascinating.
I guess I'm from another generation or something
I can't get myself to order clothes online - I would never dare order something like glasses.

I tend to prefer shopping in stores too but
1) I don't feel like getting on a train right now
2) What's fashionable right now here doesn't fit my body type
So I've been slowly starting shopping online. But it's taken me years to finally get to know what fits or not and what does not and also to stay at a stable weight.

I'm glad I have some nice shops in town.
Well, I always buy the basics, cause everything else has too much decoration for my taste (I like plain colored clothes, specially in subtle colors such as gray) but I know I have that option.
I have a hard time figuring out whether a piece of clothing will fit me or not IRL, I would have no idea what to look for online.
I guess if I learned what fits as you did I could give it a try...
Specially because delivery people are usually in town during my work hours, and I can't receive parcels at work.
So it's complicated.
