Yeah i guess it really depends. Toronto is a pretty large city…8U

Well, that and different regions have different regulations and laws which might make it impossible to do something like sell food or drinks in an establishment with animals....
Or if you aren't selling food and it's on an 'entry fee' basis they still might have issues with zoning laws...
Who knows.



I tend to view them as interactive, specialized zoos, to be honest....

My mind is not a normal place, though.

That's pretty much what it is though isn't it? Though some double as shelters and/or pet shops.

I honestly don't know what to think about them. Some are designed as money making machines, some other are a bit better. It also depends on the staff, the number of people there at any given time.
If I go I tend to gravitate towards the places that have some kind of limit on how many people can come in at any given time and places where the animals can hide/be out of reach of people. Also, places that are a bit further away from tourist hot spots

yeaaaaaaaah i was pretty sus about the cafe. i mean i know they're things in places like......japan or something. xD;; i mean, i hear or read enough of them from there.....xD i guess it was only a matter of time before the idea of animal cafes came abroad...xD;;

Well, there's a long history of small petting zoos elsewhere, and they often sell food (both for the animals and for the humans) so the concept was already in existence, really, just phrased differently

Oh yeah, petting zoos have been a thing for much longer. XD;; i know there’s a few petting zoos here. Or there used to be? I dunno, i haven’t checked recently.

Animal cafes are just tiny petting zoos that typically focus on already-domesticated and more common animals.

I suppose that’s true. And there’s always the chance to adopt them as well.

I'll be honest here: I'm just a sucker for animals, in whatever form they come.
So... absolutely biased in favor of anything that lets me interact with more of them.



I miss having pets.
