Hotarla - I don't know how they do things in Canada but in the USA you can get a government ID that isn't a license. They look very similar though.
Also we don't have to redo the driving test unless we seriously mess up in a wreck I think.

Though I do think that some people should definitely be tested again because there are some awful drivers around here.

I took classes for Spanish, German, Japanese, and ASL so I know a bit of that.

I'm not sure how it works elsewhere, but here the driver licensing process works like this:

It's super impressive that you were able to take classes in so many languages! Which one are you most fluent in? :D

When I got mine we got a permit where we had to do the multichoice questions test then we needed someone with us for a year. Then you did the drivers test which was a practical test. After you pass that you can drive regular cars where ever.

If you want to drive a motorcycle or a big truck you have to have a special license and I don't know the process for that.

Well I barely retained any of it. I probably know Spanish most. But that might because of my light knowledge of Latin. And being around it more.

The fun thing about Chinese is that the characters are all (mostly) the same regardless of mandarin or Cantonese. I grew up learning the simplified characters but it wasn't too hard to get used to the traditional characters as well (I had a phase where I was super into Taiwan novels Lol)

I feel like most things I've learned in high school are gone now XD like I actually learned a year of French, but now all I can remember is a few simple phrases....

Light: yeah i was thinking of getting a government ID thing, we have that here too lol. But you can’t get both a drivers and govt ID at the same time. My mom needs one too.

I can’t understand Simplified Chinese to save my life. 8U I learned Traditional but most of that knowledge has gone kapoof. But still, i can still recognize some characters, but only if they’re traditional, not simplified. Simplified boggles my mind lol. XD

And Japanese uses a lot of the same characters too, correct? Except that they mean different things. I imagine that could be very confusing. Looking at a sign in Japanese and reading it in Chinese. Like what in the world are they trying to say? lol.

Oh yes. Most of the stuff I've learned in high school is also gone. I am not good at retaining any sort of information unless I use it pretty regularly. It really sucks.



Don't you have to have some sort of government ID? We do here, but there's a few options. Birth certificates, social security IDs, sometimes even student IDs or work ones will also work.

I haven't seen the new Dr. Strange but I do know that it's gonna be a real doozy. It's called the Multiverse of Madness and if you don't like complicated I don't think you'll like that. And I also know that it has Scarlet Witch in it so you'll at least need to be a bit familiar with her. But it might have one of those brief explanations at the beginning to get people caught up because I feel like a lot of poeple just watch the movies and not the shows.

Basically from what I understand, all east Asian countries (mainland China, HK, TW, Japan, Korea...) use the same root characters that originated from China. Most these places use the traditional script (or some variation of it), while mainland China decided to "standardize" a few decades back and that's how simplified characters for Mandarin are born.

It's kind of funny, I think it's a lot simpler for someone who grew up with simplified to read traditional, because it mostly just looks like fancier and more complicated versions of the same character. But going from traditional to simplified, I imagine it's like "what is this weird abstract shape" XDDDD


Oh man, the new Dr. Strange... Since it's works with the multiverse I feel like I have to see Spiderman first because that was the whole premise right? And since it features Scarlet Witch, WandaVision might help QAQ
But I don't even like Scarlet Witch //cries in Marvel pain
