Aw, kitty! And skritches. :)

I'm not sure of the name of the fairy-tale. My paternal grandfather would tell it to us kids by memory, when we'd visit. I'll ask my grandmother if she knows where it was from.
It was about how the Ocean stood up in its bed and threatened to move onto the land, drowning everyone in his path, but a brave tailor/seamstress (depending on if he was telling the story to my brother or to me) saved everyone (or nearly everyone). I'm not sure what the first occasion was about, but the fairy-tale which was the twice upon a time occasion was when he (the spirit of the ocean) fell in love with a bird. The bird had been courted by the East Wind previously, but she left the East Wind for the ocean, and the East Wind got jealous and told lies to his guardian dragon. And the dragon cursed the bird for her *ahem* flightiness, and so on and so forth.
Google doesn't seem to be helping me figure out what fairy tale it is. So I'll ask my grandmother if she knows.

Grandma says it was about five fairytales mashed together, on account of my oldest cousins, and talk to them if I want more info. Apparently Crystal at least has it memorized. So I'll send her a letter, since I don't want to deal with the expense of a long-distance call like that and a 12-hour time zone difference. And she'll write it down for me.
