Do you not have lab coats to huddle in? That's what I did in my old lab if I didn't want to bring a sweatshirt. Or if it was too cold for just a sweatshirt.

No lab coats. No sweatshirt, since I didn't think to carry one. No place to hide. Plus I feel would feel weird huddling in a bunch of clothes when other people walk in.

You wouldn't feel weird when you saw them realize how cold they are. You would feel prepared and/or vindicated. Besides, your own comfort is much more important than how cold people think you are.

You underestimate the power of my anxiety. I always assume that everyone else is completely comfortable and judging me harshly for my weakness. Yes, I understand how ridiculous I am.

What if you're making them uncomfortable thinking about how uncomfortable you look?

That would make me even more uncomfortable, sending us spiraling into a true ouroboros of uncomfortability.

The only option is to look completely comfortable in sensible clothes. Or get that document together and escape the Bagsley.

Comfortable and sensible? You ask too much.

I feel weird listing my skills. I don't usually think of myself as having any.

It's interesting to think of yourself in a marketable way.

You should put a CV together. You make yourself sound even more enticing and it looks really official.
