Back to 1. My hard drive with ALL my files corrupted yesterday, so I was pretty off my kilter and didn't log in anywhere.

oh DEAR that sucks AF. i remember that happened to my sister's laptop once. i think she was able to save it tho (bc we have asian relatives who are in IT)

Usually I'm the tech geek, but this was outside of my wheelhouse and I've been out of the game several years. My mom found some people online that had some recovery software. They left their laptop with me over the weekend since I've got like 6TB of data and basic instructions how to work their software. FINGERS CROSSED.

The work drive claims to be 11% recovered. From what I can tell, all the "addresses" went kaput, but the files seem to be there. I think. Soooo... the majority of 1,248,384 files on my work drive are getting dumped into ONE folder. Thank heavens I'm neurotic and named my files in a very orderly fashion, unlike my work programs who just generate files that only say "archive". So now I have "archive_1", "archive_2", etc. Safe to say I've lost the programs' files and just have the PDF backups of about 1200 clients that have come here once or more since 2002. Maybe I should just skip eating for a month so I can afford to have a back-up drive available so I don't have to do this again. x_x
