Stardew Valley is a callback to older Harvest Moon/Story of Season games
But less fluffy
There's a lot of not so fluff mixed in, so it's more realistic in that aspect
It does have an app, at least on iOS, but it came out on desktop first and is across all platforms
What you described can be Farmville, Townkins, Tidal Town, etc etc etc
Trust me chriz, most all of us are noobs on there
No thread tho, doesn't seem necessary

ConcernedApe is a solo guy
He's publishing through Chucklefish Games, he recently announced he's splitting away, forming his own team for SV, but they'll mostly focus on background stuff, he's still gonna have control
He's still gonna go through Chucklefish for Switch and iOs versions tho
Idk why for iOS but I can hazard a guess for Switch, which is what I have it on

He is doing something in the same universe as SV for a new game, but it won't be a clone
And considering how damn good SV is, since he cares more about having a good game than making a profit (we have at least one more solo update coming), that really helps the popularity of the game
