Wasn't Gaia a spinoff of Ragnarok Online? Maybe partly why people
want to battle... I think it's more of, just looking for other things to do,
and why not compete against one another?

Poor zOMG. :c

Gacha items were essentially RIGs.

oh yeah the PvP system... I really wish they would start working on zOMG again. At least hire a couple more coders again to make up for all the artists they fired.
I only really stopped play as much when my session got glitched and it never got fixed... and also when they took out the talking feature they had with the game

Oh, a "gacha" in real life is one of those machines where you put a coin in and get a little plastic ball with a random toy in it. TinierMe had a bunch of items you could only get via on-site gachas. It was sort of like RIGs. But they had TONS of them, to the point where nearly all the items were gacha items -- and most of them you HAD to pay real money for. And then there were items you could only get via collecting an entire set of gacha items and then trading them in for it. The "collect all and trade" thing actually ended up being made illegal in Japan.

And Gaia started life as a Ragnarok fansite, but I don't think most people knew that even back in 2003, lol. (And Ragnarok isn't really about PvP either... or at least it never was when I played it, which admittedly was like 10 years ago.)

Thanks for the info. And I never knew those things were called gacha haa

so is that what closed tinier me down or was it something else?

Since that only affected Japan, and the Japanese site is still up, no it wasn't.

I guess the parent company just didn't feel like maintaining the US site any more but I'm not entirely sure why.

Woo!

I'm not sure if I should sell my extra summer stuff now, or wait and see if they're worth more in a few months. I kind of have a feeling the yukatas might go up. And I might save some of the neutral stuff in case Dark ever does join >.>

I thought Gaia and Ragnarok were the same thing, or almost, so
I never joined go-gaia, even though I'd look at avatar art. XD;;

Yeah, there was the difference that they had gachas for their non-cash
currency as well... I think they just didn't make enough or have enough
users for them to care.

Ah, suddenly I'm curious about StarProject... I wonder if they got Mr. Prettyhair up ever?

&I still haven't finished a set of the summer booth, haha.

Never heard of Meez.

and I forgot all about Star Project. I would probably play it if it was an actual game I could buy and download and didn't go in real time >.>
