I changed the background, so maybe it will be a little easier to guess.
Also, Trees are a big part of there character.

An old site which I used to go on (TinierMe) (shut now TTwTT) used to have his outfit!
And gosh, I am not sure on your one Kiwi, I cannot remember many characters which are fully black!!

I didnt realize it would be that hard to guess.
Heres some hints.
1. Its from a newer cartoon(It came out about 4 years ago)
2. Trees are a part of his character.
3. Hes a villain.
4. He has a lantern.
If nobody can guess after this should I just reveal who it is?
