I saw it on instagram! It looks great! :)
Seemed like it really was a ton of work.

Aw, your machine is still broken? I remember we talked about that a while ago, yeah. I hope you can figure it out and it won't be too expensive. But it's good that you still have embroidery projects to do while the machine sewing stuff is not possible :)

Since then, I honestly haven't even had time to look at it :'D

Yeah, it was a lot haha. The cross hatching took sooo long :qcry:

Fair enough, you're a busy person after all ;)

What is cross hatching?

It's when the artist shades in straight lines, first one way and then crossed over in the other direction, so the density of the lines creates the impression of shadow or shade. I'm sure you know the technique, just not the technical English name :D

Ah, I see, yeah! I thought at first it was some embroidery technique you'd used in some parts of the picture or something like that.

I guess it technically is, because in some areas I had to literally sew the individual lines over one another.

Makes sense :)
Do the other engravings you prepared have it as well?

Probably haha... same artist. But I didn't know how hard that bit would be when I printed them out :mcheh: I guess it's not harder really, but just... more tedious XD

You haven't dared take a closer look yet? :D
I guess it's just a lot of detail to stitch, so well... More work ;)

Not yet XD I'm working on the sampler I started last year so I can get it out of the way first, and the new engraving will be my reward for finishing that haha.
