I find these games that are cute, doesn't involve a lot of brainwork, and has multiple aspects of gameplay are right up my alley XD

I don't think I'll ever rely on driving, bussing is much cheaper and convenient. But I do live in a more suburban area atm, so having that skill there can't hurt.

And for me, im mainly Cantonese. So sometimes, when I watch or listen to mandarin, I can make out a few words or sentences. Exposure helps too lol.

Exposure does help! But it's limited LOL. Something I find funny is that to me, Cantonese sounds a lot more aggressive than Mandarin, so when I listen to a conversation in Canto I always wonder if they're fighting. But talking with people who speak Canto, they feel the same for Mandarin XD

And then talking to English speakers, they feel like all Chinese sound aggressive

My old one was okay in teaching me the basics, but he was really... nitpicky and controlling? So he wouldn't let me figure things out myself and just kept lecturing me the whole time, which did bad things to my nerves
(Also he keep using math to explain things, and I suck at math)

My current instructor is much better in comparison, he sits back and lets me try things out (only stepping in if it's unsafe), and tries to explain things in different ways until I get it QuQ

Using maths to teach driving? As a mathematician, this honestly surprises me...

Yeah, i think any language can sound aggressive though, it just depends on the tone. To me though, mandarin just sounds so much more formal…8U like it can be written out and stuff. But cantonese has lots of slangish phrases that don’t make much sense written out. XD;;

~Amura: yeah! He'd talk about angles and meters and force and whatnot nonstop XD;;;; which I can imagine being helpful to some, but for me it was like listening to gibberish

~Hot: it's probably because Cantonese is older than Mandarin? Mando did come from the government trying to "standardize" China so it makes sense it sounds more formal... Though nowadays more and more slang are being used thanks to the internet lol

Some instructors are weirdoes.
I mean, the best thing they can teach you is finding some references to park. Like what you should be seeing in the mirrors and such.
