Yeah the references work best for me.
Though now it's gotten to a point where I have to learn to not rely solely on the references because they could be off. Basically being "smarter" in making necessary adjustments @.@
I feel so dumb behind the wheel though OTL
Thankfully we have a good transit system here, so I know I won't have to rely on driving much QuQ

I need the car for anything that involves leaving my town.
The town is nice, I have here everything I need on a daily basis, but for anything else (clothes, doctors, etc.) I need a car.
We have a bus, but it only stops a few times a day and it's so inconvenient.

I never got any official instruction for driving. My husband actually taught me. lol.
The public transit here is awful. And I cannot walk all the way to a bus stop. The closest one to me is like a 15 minute plus walk for an able bodied person. For me it would probably take an hour.

Wow :O
I now feel extra fortunate and blessed for our transit system. It can take me across cities easily (so I'll never have to drive on a highway LOL)
Your husband must be an extremely patient person Debra! :O I've only heard bad stories of family members/spouse trying to teach each other driving. It usually gets heated because the teacher cares and worries too much and that translates into frustration D: apparently one of our neighbors almost got divorced when the husband was teaching his wife how to drive... :(

Here the only way to go across cities with some sort of public transportation is Greyhound Bus. And that's pretty expensive. And they only have certain stops.
If I wanted to get from my childhood home to the city I would have to walk or be driven. No buses go that way.
It's a bit better in the city but still not amazing.
He's pretty patient. Though when I was in college and taking math classes that was pretty bad. I have a math learning disability so we would both get super frustrated trying to understand the information. Literally every time we worked on it I would cry. lol.

My father tried to teach me a little bit, it was exasperating. For both, I suppose.
I hope I'm not the one giving driving lessons to my son when he reaches the age, I would be terrible at it!

Maybe you'll be able to afford to pay to have someone teach him.

Ahhh this reminds me of my mom trying to teach me math back in junior high... I cried every time QAQ Fractions were so confusing...
On that note my mom also tried to teach me driving for a bit, we quickly gave up on that LOL
I think sometimes the money it takes to hire someone professional is worth it to spare everyone of Frustration and Tears

I feel like it's worth it if you have the option.
For me that isn't an option. I have literally no money.
Husband makes exactly enough money to pay our bills. But not enough to cover groceries. lol. Good times.

Oh no, I'm sorry to hear that Debra D:
I just started working a couple of years ago, so I don't have much saved up yet, but I'm able to support myself and pay rent, so I consider myself fortunate in this economy
~Amura: It may be a bit of a stereotype, but I think boys are usually better at driving? It's very likely that your son will figure it out quickly! :D
