Guess you can try using wand tool or simply rubber to get rid of bg, but drawing on transparent is usually easiest way...

I always wondered how that was done.

So should I lasso my drawing from the white background and layer it onto the transparent background?

EDIT: @Amalath I will have to start doing that from now on, but I have to fix all the drawing that I have already made onto the transparent background. I guess that will take some time.

OOh, neat find, Ama.

I actually tend to draw sketches on a white or grey background anyway, and lineart/color on transparent layers. Then I just delete the background layer. :D

I usually keep a layer with white background under my picture as well.
I hate working on raw transparent layers. They make my eyes bleed, lol.
