yeah exactly. and since the ipads belong to the company, i'm even more wary of breaking it lol.

Yeah, because if it breaks you'll be paying to repair something that's not even truly yours...

Yeahhhhh which is why i’m careful. 8u i mean, sometimes i forget but most of the time, i am. XD

That's something I'm trying to teach my students, quite unsuccessfully.
They are lent laptops, so every kid in the school has a computer to work with. They can take them home, in case they need them for their homework.
But of course they must keep them in good condition. And they are often not very careful...

well........they're kids after all. as adults, we probably value things more. for kids, they're probably like "well its not mine, who cares?" or like "they can just easily replace it"...xD

Yep, that's the kind of way they think.
But it's not just because they are kids, it's because of they way they've ben raised.
I've started noticing the way younger colleagues behave, and sometimes it resembles too much the way teenagers do...

Yeah. It really is. My parents raised me to be modest and polite. Which is why i’m always shy to take things even when offered, why i rarely show that i’m angry, why i speak so softly. XD;;

I don't know much about Chinese culture, but I've always thought that are the sort of attitudes which are strongly encouraged.
In one word, modesty.
