When shelters ask for application fees, and a lot of questions before even letting you meet said puppy, and you also have to fight with someone that is supposed to be helping you do this stuff, yeah it is. right now we're looking to get from a breeder at this point because one shelter wants 45 dollars just to submit an application to try for any puppy they have, another wants 30 plus 100 dollars in deposit towards a puppy you might be interested in, but if you don't get the dog, you have to ask for a refund on the deposit or wait till another dog comes in you like. Shelters in my area really suck anymore when I know another person that got a dog with no hassle in PA for 25 bucks.

And that's not even including the 200-300 dollars they want in adoption fees once approved.(deposit one i think puts it towards the fee, but the other doesn't have the deposit but the 45 dollars doesn't go towards adoption fee either.
Edit 5:14 pm CST: Just got informed now that getting a puppy period is now on hold because of reasons i'd rather not get into right now, along with my birthday being skipped this year.

I hope it all gets sorted soon, it almost seems unreasonable for you to go through so much to adopt a dog...

It is and sadly it's not looking like i'm going to be getting one anytime soon, i've been trying to get one for over a year now as is. If i didn't have to also fight with another person that is supposed to be helping me do this along with rescues, shelters, and people that seem to think that I don't NEED a dog to be able to deal with the stuff I do on a normal basis(long story short, i deal with way too much stress and the dog was meant to be a companion to help me deal with it) I probably would have gotten one by now.

Anyways, my woes aside, how's it been going for you guys lately?

Well, Hurricane Flo's starting to whisper in my brain. Other than that I'm alright. Got a box so full of presents the other day that I ran away and hid from it.

Yeah I know, and I have adopted pets before, my cat Auron is adopted from a rescue group, that's what really peeves me off, we had no issues adopting him 8 years ago, yet now it's suddenly a hassle and money hungry to adopt a single puppy that would be loved dearly.

That's awesome that you got a box of presents recently tam, I hope after flo passes through that you'll get to enjoy them :)(sorry i was trying to come up with a way to not sound weird XD.)

One of my church brothers has a sister who raises sled dogs. There was a shelter in her town making things up so they could take her dogs and sell them.

Oh, I'm enjoying some now. And I'm not overwhelmed by how much was in the box anymore. I'm just tired. It's just PMS yet. This box held SO many dolls. Including one based on my avatar character! Yeah. An UtterlyWeird dolly!
