Blow snot bubbles, then consult an oracle to read a plot from the resulting splatter.
Edisonades were a bizarrely specific genre that appeared in the late 1800s. Almost universally, they starred a young man from the East Coast, usually physically weak or disabled, who invented something fantastic (like a mechanical ostrich) and then used his invention to travel out West, kill a lot of bad dudes, and become a hero. Most of these stories were near-identical. They made up a lot of the dime novels read by the public at the time.

That sounds a lot like the Wild Wild West movie. The really bad one.
What do I actually do if I can't find that paper, though? I hate plot. I have never plotted. I don't have any notecards.

You don't need the paper! You can make a new plot! A plot is just a list of events that have meaning because they include the same characters. Plus, in Tamora Pierce stories, there's some beats you can depend on anyway, especially if you're covering knight training.

Make it a crossover. Thanos as a queen bee at knight training. Two plots happen at the same time, with no real relation to one another.

And also dragons. And maybe another thing, too.
No, that's just me doing short stories for Camp NaNo. Bad me.

Well, it's starting to sound like those crossovers that clutter up AO3.
Since you're not going to read this response, I'll take the opportunity to tell you that I've never liked your spinach puffs.
