just play around in my wardrobe until something looks right. Sometimes I have a plan but that's pretty rare.

my plans usually just center around season, holiday or new item. xD and then i work out the colours from there.

I do the same.
Shiny new items are often a temptation.

No need to be newly-released items though.
Often being able to get an old item for sale makes it more exciting!

Good point, when I get an old item I've wanted for a while I immediately try to style it.

Yeah and not just newly released items. I might buy an older item and, like lunar side, I’d try to make an avatar. But if it flops, I just stop lol. XD

Sometimes I'll go the extra mile to get some commons to help style an item but if i'm having a hard enough time, I just give up too.

I love commons. Specially Bananarama's.
But right now I have so many items that I hardly ever need to buy more...

Thanks! Its similar to an another avi I used to make but decided to spice it up with new commons. Bananarama and lunatic fringe are fantastic when you need something to just add more flare.

Sometimes I supplement my treasure trove heavy avatars with common shop items. Like for that extra detail. XD I’d buy a few things…and then don’t use any of them sometimes. XD

I try to only buy commons when I'm using it to style another item so that they don't flood my wardrobe.
