But there was no go-pro! I don't see how it could have been anything other than disappointingly tame.

What did you give Dad?

No, it's really a one of a kind sort of movie (in a good way, too!). Not to be missed.

The Adv3nture Hoodie jacket. He likes it.

What are you learning about being a student?

I don't know what I'm learning...?

I guess right now I'm learning to investigate potential research topics all by myself while John is in Calgary. Condylarths, bro. So many condylarths.

When are you going to the state fair? The Ren Fest? Your grave?

Doing that by yourself is normal. What is a condylarth?

State Fair Labor Day weekend, Renfest unknown. Rather than my grave, I will be visiting this land and calling it my grave.

'Condylarth' is an almost-outdated term for a non-clade of things that lived in the paleocene and were previously thought to be the ancestors of horses and sheeps and all the other ungulates. The term would have disappeared already, but people aren't done unloading this particular wastebasket, so there's a lot of things that don't have anywhere else to go.

Some of them were real small herbivores and some of them were real big carnivores. Most had hooves.

Go to Ren Fest this weekend. Do it.

Have you watched American Gods yet? Were you still planning to do that?

Define non class in this context. There are ao many ways to fail, you know.

Would this wastebasket become your project?

It might rain, though.

Haven't watched it. Want to. No concrete plan yet in place.

Non-clade in this case appears to be a polyphyletic grab-bag of everything that had hooves. I don't fully understand it yet. Doing so might be at least part of my project.

Ren Fest in rain would be fine, right? Oh, wait, the fire dancing people might get soggy. Also everyone else. The turkey legs would survive.

they put me on freaking FIRST HORN in band. why. there is a sousa march. my face hurts.

Also in Ohio everyone apologizes when they accidentally bump into you in a crowd? Way more than Minnesotans do. I am uncomfortable.

Hooves is probably the most diagnostic trait out there. Your work is over.

Why shouldn't you be on first horn? You love Sousa. I know you do. I know I do.

So every single time, even when no contact is made? I'm having a hard time imagining that.

MY FACE DOES NOT LOVE SOUSA

The first time I got a bump-apology (bumpology?) here was on a bus, and the person's bag had just lightly grazed my bag. I had barely registered that it happened. They turned to face me and apologized, and I was like, what? Minnesota Nice is clearly not Minnesota Polite enough for this.

I got a facebook friend request from that neighbor kid who works for dad and sneaks around your room. I'm letting it fester.

Are you intending to get all the summer event items? I'm kind of slacking.

Your face should work out more.

Why don't you want to be bffs with the neighbor kid? I should set a booby trap in my room; thanks for reminding me.

I'm trying to get to level 7. Not too concerned about the items. Maybe a few items.

Are you done with classes for the week? How were things?
