Chrizine how is the skirt coming? Have you tried attaching the pockets at this point?

The skirt is actually finished! Sorta - I realized by now that I misunderstood how the belt is supposed to go, so I attached it the wrong way around. But I can fix that as soon as I am back home :)

I'm currently visiting family, which is why I didn't post about it yet as well.

My niece complimented it right away :) and she didn't even know that I'd made it myself beforehand ;)

I'll definitely make a post about how the rest of it went and post some pictures as well. Maybe I'll even manage to make my mom take some nice ones of me wearing it in the garden or something like that :)

I'm excited at the notion of winter skirts. So hard to find long skirts in a nice warm heavy fabric.

Ankle long Skirts are the best. Plus you can wear pants under them and be all cosy warm. :}

Yessss! Layers, and warm layers that don't show, just the pretty top stuff, and the swish of long skirts
Of course, high snowdrifts plus long skirts sometimes means wet hems, but if you have some petticoats on keeping the skirts poofed out, then the wet stuff doesn't hit your ankles really because the petticoats keep them away, and so it still works.

Wearing thick sturdy boots also help with that. But yeah wet hems are one of the worst parts of long skirts. :}

Definitely boots are a bonus. Which reminds me, I need to get the soles replaced on my pair.

Now I know that issue. Poorly I only ever remember the need when the weather is the type I actually need to wear them. :}
