luipi, amura said she wanted to hold onto it for future trading, not turn around and sell it right away. but even if she did, it is not 'unfair'. there is no rule on this site that says you can't do that. in the larger world, that is just good business.
Firn has also quite clearly stated her opinion on last second bids:

I also never really understood how sniping was unfair, since everyone is free to place a bid in the last minutes or seconds of the auction. This is not an advantage to only some users. It is free to everyone. I don't see how changing the system would make it fairer, because I don't understand how the system we have now was unfair.
from this thread:
viewtopic.php?f=3&t=41614if you don't have a lot of points to spend on something that is both popular and usually quite expensive, the reality is you are going to be very, very lucky if you get it for a low price, and will probably have to wait until you can save up enough to make a higher bid or do a buy now when it's offered that way.
for everyone else, if you want to reduce the likelihood of getting sniped on something then put a fair or even
high bid for what it's worth on it. and if you still lose it, shrug your shoulders and
let it go. it's not even real stuff! and it's not worth holding grudges over.
and it's not unfair. i see people bandying that word about all the time when they lose, but never when they WIN, and to be sure some person/s they lost to
are thinking exactly that.
when i was a little kid complaining that this or that was "unfair!", my dad would always say "LIFE's not fair. get used to it."
