It feels especially worse because you're not just letting yourself down -- you're letting someone else down. :qd: This is why I always did better and worked harder on group projects.

I think what upset me was I know the winner already has one D: so that's why i'm like :/ I kinda wanna collect things but i NEVER ever bid on something I already own I don't think it's fair to other collectors or buyers.

There's too much drama in this thread <<

Yes, that's an spare I got, because that kind of items is often great to offer in trade (in fact, I'm looking for the red one, so having the blue one could make a nice trade) and because it was very cheap.
This price guide says 25k-60k, so you were just trying to get a bargain. Don't complain if someone else got it instead!
If you had bid something like 50k you probably would be the winner. That's how I got some of my Devil items -even though I was not online to bid. For others I paid 90k, as reported to the guide, because I wanted them that bad.

And now I don't want to spend much, otherwise I'd bid that much on that Pitchfork that I wanted, but I did not because I was in hope I'd get it much cheaper than that.
Someone else got it but I don't complain. I'm happy for the winner because she did great getting a bargain I'd want for myself.
That's being a good loser.

Sorry, but all this drama is not good for this thread.
How do you expect people to keep posting their winning auctions if all they get back is moaning? It personally bugs me a lot...

thank you^^ and why so bad? o,o

I never really kow how much to bid, and always miss the last bid by a second or two (maybe too slow ?)

Amura > Sincerly I understand that cheaper items are spotted for some people for trading, but it really upsets me when you really want something (and don't have a lot of money to bid) and someone just won the auction by a second and 20 minutes later sold it back to someone for a highter price. I don't think it's really fair to do that, but as I already said that's the game.

And I don't think that anyone who "complain" in the thread wanted to be rude or something, they are only frustrated on some people and can't keep this for them since it's something unfair for them.

luipi, amura said she wanted to hold onto it for future trading, not turn around and sell it right away. but even if she did, it is not 'unfair'. there is no rule on this site that says you can't do that. in the larger world, that is just good business.

Firn has also quite clearly stated her opinion on last second bids:

Firn wrote:
I also never really understood how sniping was unfair, since everyone is free to place a bid in the last minutes or seconds of the auction. This is not an advantage to only some users. It is free to everyone. I don't see how changing the system would make it fairer, because I don't understand how the system we have now was unfair.

from this thread: viewtopic.php?f=3&t=41614

if you don't have a lot of points to spend on something that is both popular and usually quite expensive, the reality is you are going to be very, very lucky if you get it for a low price, and will probably have to wait until you can save up enough to make a higher bid or do a buy now when it's offered that way.

for everyone else, if you want to reduce the likelihood of getting sniped on something then put a fair or even high bid for what it's worth on it. and if you still lose it, shrug your shoulders and let it go. it's not even real stuff! and it's not worth holding grudges over.

and it's not unfair. i see people bandying that word about all the time when they lose, but never when they WIN, and to be sure some person/s they lost to are thinking exactly that.

when i was a little kid complaining that this or that was "unfair!", my dad would always say "LIFE's not fair. get used to it."

I can say that I start to bid the last 5 seconds. And I send the bid only one or two seconds before ending. Mostly if nobody overbids me I win :3

oh how true!

Well, I see here is a big discussion about it. I can understand both sides. On the one hand it's sad for the people who want this items and don't get them, but on the other hand if you don't bid the max of the PG you can't say it is unfair. As butcherbaby wrote, there is no rule against bidding for people who already have this item. I can understand Amuras reason, I do exactly the same. Maybe somebody has a good item I want badly and I can use the won item to trade. I am also bidding on Items I already have but I wouldn't sell them for a higher Price if I get them. THIS is unfair!

This'll be much appreciated <3 I work to much to stalk the market at all times and I don't really wanna pay more than 35k tops for that top which is why I'd rather get it through auction than AB ^^; (doesn't favor it that much) but all the same I'd like to own it one day ;3

@Luipi I think the main issue is that it's a 10FP difference that upsets people the most O_o; if it was like 1k or something that might not cause as much of an issue, but when a snipe occurs and it's the lowest increase is when people get upset that they got sniped because they lost by 10FP

EDIT: O_O Who went digging? XDDDDD *sees my mood*
