That depends on you :) But yea, indeed, might be difficult to count the posts of a person.. Or you make everyone count his/her own posts and send you a PM with it? And say that you do it beetween date X and date Y? I dunno.

Well the post count is listed under everyone's avatar so counting isn't a problem per se, its that I don't want to do a posting competition to increase site activity and then have people make 50 posts in the spam threads for it c':

but making it a 'in this thread only' thing isn't the best solution either in my opinion, cause I don't want people to end up trying to hold onto a conversation with over ten people, with others making posts in the thread for the sake of posting and adding to their count.

I'm thinking maybe a different kind of point system?

- make a new thread in x or y subforum -> 10 points
- make a new thread in x or y subforum (word games or the like) -> 5 points

With a limit to how many threads you're allowed to make cause obv I don't want people to spam threads and then abandon them... Maybe also only making it count if the maker posts at least 3 times in their own thread

and then 1 point per post in the contest thread or any that isn't spam?

I'm still working on it but I'd like to make it last about a month. I'm also thinking of rewarding donators with extra points, say 50 points if they donated in the month of the contest? I don't want to give them a huge point reward cause obv not everyone has the capability to donate and I do want to keep it fair, but the same amount of points can be earned for making 5 threads so it seems fair to me?

Haha you're right about the post count, did not think about it at all :mcheh:

Well, all sound like reasonable points, so I don't know, I am sure you will figure something out :)

I'm thinking of maybe milestones? Like you'd get some lil prizes inbetween. If the contest starts on the 1st of November and runs for a month I could do a lil prize draw each week leading up to the main prize on the 30th

That would definitely be a motivation for me cause at the beginning I am usually all in and lose my drive and grit during the course of time :D

exactly why I'm thinking of it haha

also to prevent people from not entering halfway through the month because they think it isn't worth trying if they didn't enter from the start. With weekly draws they don't have to sit out on the whole contest if they missed the start for some reason ;o

Posting competition sounds like a fun idea, but actually like a lot of work to keep track of the points that you suggested... Although I guess you can make people send you a list of all the threads they made, so it should be not too hard to check that part.

I've also not been posting or online at all lately... Work life is taking up so much of my time :( And then in the evening I'm often just happy to chill on the couch away from my pc for a bit and then fall into bed...

@Chriz: I bet you'll be used to your work ina while and you'll be all "uugh, I wanna go home and waste my time in front of a computer there!" XD New beginnings take a toll, but then you get used to it and go back to your old habits :qt:

I'd be actually too lazy to check which threads I''ve posted in, I get confused with them all xD
