Playing badly is just learning *nods* And tabletop with two people... really doesn't work XD
One of the rps I wrote with a friend a while back, I'm actually in the process of turning into a screenplay (with permission from her and credit given for co-authoring of course)

That's the Digger comic.
It's in book form, too, but that costs more money than I really have to spare, so the free web version is what I go back to.
(It's a complete and finished story, not ongoing. And be aware that although you will certainly laugh, there are a few moments when I ended up crying, too. So there's that.)
RPs with two people is very hard, you only have one player and the DM so it's hard to get that creative gestalt going. RPs with three people is actually my favorite, or four people if some of you are often tired or not quite such high output people.... five people and now you have to deal with interpersonal politics too much for my taste, and it slows things down because you have to check every change with every person, and blah.
I know someone who is trying to run a group of seven people.
SEVEN.
He says that every week at LEAST one person is missing, usually two, so it's mostly that he likes redundancy in the group, but there are times when everyone is there and then you have to deal with seven people! Well, six plus yourself.
That's crazy!

RPG and RP are different. RPs are perfectly fine and very agreeable with only two people :)

Like 2 player monopoly? xD
Yeah I recently figured out that monopoly also sucks with just 2 people! ;/ lol
Oooh exciting! What is your screenplay about?
Ha it sounds crazy having so many people in a roleplay
Like how do you even keep track of who is who and who made what and whatnot? xD Your notes will turn into an encyclopedia xD and yeah whenever you have a certain number of people in a group, Politics always comes into play somehow :k
I think 3-4 would be the perfect number of people.

Well again, in an RPG, people have characters that are all written down and lots of notes yes. Usually built from certain archetypes and roles and so on. RP is different.
And the screenplay is about space pirates and stolen technology.

Have you mentioned this to me before? (You see what I mean about bad memory....) I vaguely remember a conversation about space pirates?
Or it could have been your space fairy....lol
Sounds interesting!

I am not entirely clear on the differences between RPG and RP; most of my experiences of both have been in that blurred-line boundary between them.
Like an RP based on an RPG system, or an RPG that evolves into communal storytelling.
So it would be very helpful to me if you could properly explain the differences? I'm not always sure what I notice is just unique to that group and what is a result of the system...

Lacking motivation and ideas? Or just lost interest?

RPG is either tabletop, or a video game, interactive storytelling where your character is a part of the story. Role Play Game.
RP is person to person, text rp, forums, emails, google docs etc. Some people consider MMO rping RP, because you're telling a story outside of the game's intended one. Role Playing.
And then there's LARP, Live Action Role Playing, like Ren Faire's or the SCA, Society for Creative Anachronism, where you physically dress up and become a character and rp through acting.
And I haven't been working on my screenplay because depression is a helluva thing.
