It wasn't a verify your identity question. Some old sites used to do password reminders where you can write a sentence or a few words to jog your memory. I think it fell out of favor because it was either unhelpful like in my case or it made it easier to get hacked.

I don't think gaia did it but I remember a few sites doing it at the time.

it was often used by sites that didn't send you an email when you forgot your password. It fell out of favor because to be honest its just easier to send an email to reset it.

Yeah def, i’d rather get an email reset than…whatever that was lol. XD

yeah emails are easier, unless the email account is a dead account.
