No, it will not wither! You only need to water a plant ONCE in three days for it not to wither.
(In other words: Yes, "1.water/nothing 2.nothing/nothing 3.nothing/nothing" is one of the possible 24 combinations.)
now i'm kinda confused ^^'
if W/N N/N N/N is one combination, then there are much more than 24 combinations...?

Read my explanation carefully, it's all there:
It does not matter when you water the plant, it's just how often you watered it in three days, and you have to water each plant at least once in three days. Makes 3 ways to water a plant, namely once, twice, and three times. And yes, watering the plant first day and then no more is the same as watering the plant only the last day, or whatever combination you find.
It does matter when you fertilize a plant. So, there are 8 possible combinations of how to fertilize a plant, and I can write them down for you:
---, f--, -f-, --f, -ff, f-f, ff-, fff (where f stands for fertilize the plant, and - for not; the first place stands for the first day, the second for the second, the third for the third.)
3 ways to water x 8 ways to fertilize = 24 possible combinations of watering / fertilizing, hence 24 items.

Ahh, I see. So water doesn't matter which day you do it, just matters how often. Watering only on Day 1 would mean the same as watering only on Day 3, right?
The fertilizer matters on which days, but it's also possible to not fertilize at all?

EDIT: Aaargh, now I'm confused! So if I water AND fertilize the plants every single day, I still get different items or just the same? Must it be done in combinations??
