Well, even the most basic of backgrounds can really add to a drawing!
One of my entries I intended to be backgroundless -
but... moving it into photoshop to render it transparent
Killed the layer effects I had from SAI.
(I am supposed to be able to render it transparent in SAI
but mine is kinda broken in that department)
So I had to slap on a gradient and bubbles.
So I am sure your entry looks just fine with a background!
Only time it's really "better off" is if you make a solid colour BG
of some overly bright colour.

That's what happened with my entry,
I ran out of time to do a background.
So I kept it plain.
So many wonderful entries~
Was a delight to see them all > u <

All the entires were so beautiful!!! I was just super excited to see that many mermaid drawings in one place! I love mermaids! It's going to be so hard to decide a winner they all were amazing and creative!

Yeah, you might be right, Doki, but it's just so... scribbly. I wish I thought of keeping it simple like that. XP

I didnt end up having time for a bg. And with spending so much energy on the rock she was perched on I thought that might do xD
And oh no silver D:! Im sorry you didnt get to enter. Did you draw something? If so Id love to see it even if it didnt get in the contest.

This might be a slightly off/odd question, but how would one go about 'giving' Firn a drawing as a gift after the contests is over???

I have a much more complex one that I started and wanted to do for this contest, but I did not have time to finish it and I'm not sure when I will be able too... And since it was started for this contest I guess I think it should be a gift. *if that makes any sense at all*
