I intend to be from a northern fief and be half Scanran (mother's side, obviously), so that I can be a huge blond barbarian (eventually). Mother intimidated Father with her barbarian ways, and he enjoyed it because he likes huge women, so I grew up with mostly Scanran customs. So many tankards were smashed.
I could go either way on any type of magic. It's not a major factor for my character creation process at this time.
Acceptable? Thoughts?

Also, I am a fruit bat wild mage. Definitely.

So, thus far I think I'm a normal sort of mage, but a weak one. Good at lighting candles, great at creating charms (anti-pregnancy and the like), useless at pretty much everything else. Sixth child of a minor noble.
I'm guessing it's been 5-10 years since all the Keladry stuff happened, so the events of all the books are solidly in the past. Are the gods disappearing, or are people just losing their connection with them, or what?

People probably think the gods are angry, when actually there is some sort of thing going on in the divine realms. Maybe the parents of the gods have something to do with it. Maybe the gods just up and disappear, one at a time, and are very concerned about it themselves? People could lose their magic in proportion to the disappearances of the gods they feel closest to.
I approve of your time choice and your character decisions. What sort of aspirations do you have concerning knighthood? It's a good choice for a sixth child, but what sort of knight do you plan to be? Champion? Leader? Follower? Pencil pusher? The type that wanders around and makes the crown look bad by brawling a lot?
That last one might be me. I think I am the first child of my parents, but I will go through my teen years more interested in adventure and bashing heads than caring for a fief. I should have been born in the time of a more warlike king. In regards to the wild magic, I might actually stick with an affinity for bats, but generally only insect-eating bats are found where I live, if any. I probably don't know about my magic because I have never had a close encounter with a bat.

I figure it will just be the human gods having troubles, since wild magic is fine. I'm still not sure exactly what the connection between the gods and magic is, though, so I'm not sure if magic disappearing should be the result of the god-problems or if they should both be symptoms of some other thing.
I figure my character has very little enthusiasm for knighthood and mostly pursues it out of a lack of other options. Might harbor a dream to secure a desk job and someday produce 5-10 children. On the other hand, hates to be pushed around or shown up by anyone, since there's quite enough of that back home.
So would your affinity be for all bats? You probably would have been close enough to some at some point to notice a connection with them, if so. I mean, bats are everywhere, in great numbers, and they like to get into poorly-secured buildings.

I don't mean the parents of the gods having troubles; I mean they are up to something that negatively impacts the gods and/or magic and/or immortals.
Does your character intend to marry into another noble family, money? Who's supporting these 10 children?
Do you prefer an all-bat relationship, or just fruitbats for comedy value? The second is easier for me, but the first is presumably more useful.

I said I had created the ultimate OOC format. Actually I stole it from R.
```{OOC}
This is me being out of character. I use proper punctuation, but only because I want to.
```
This is the only way. Stick them with quills.

Sorry sorry sorry. For a brief moment meatspace seemed more enthralling than the interwebs. Now that we have a document set up elsewhere, must we really talk by these means?

Well, yeah. Hangouts are for food.
