Ahh it's because in Canada, data caps "existed", but were neeeeeeever enforced. Ever. I had never in my life heard of anyone ever being charged for exceeding a data limit on their home internet. I think how it worked is they were sort of like guidelines? Like if you went a huge amount over them they were allowed to slow your internet or something like that, but weren't allowed to charge for it. But apparently whatever bill Unsceduled mentioned changed that +.+ And so it has come as sort of a rude shock to everyone suddenly getting these bills.
That's okay Finnie, no one has shoes here. Or pants. Below the waist we all go free like nature intended xD

I'm in the states
Data cap means paying lots of money, losing speed or not up to the provider
Our old unlimited one slowed down after 5gb, but considering how Derpy it could be otherwise, it wasn't noticable

My internet speed is fairly good, but the prices are terrible and it will cut in and out sometimes. It used to be even worse when we had Telus though, that cut out /constantly/.
Well, in that scenario I'm still correct about no one having pants or shoes, I do suppose xD
