Oh man. That's why I like original stories and RPs, because one can go ahead and make them suffer and bring them together in the end after lots of yummy heartache and no canon pays the right attention to the fandom's opinions.

Let's see. LET'S SEE. Let's talk about how nobody knows for sure where Grace came from and they've been everywhere so it's hard to tell. They're not really like anyone else in terms of culture, if anything they're most similar to humans but obviously Grace isn't human.
Let's talk about how nobody even knows what Grace actually looks like. Anyone can make assumptions but who knows if the face they put on is who they really are. Nobody even knows for sure what Grace's name actually is. Grace can and might just be an adopted name because they liked the sound of it.
And they have this persona about them that creates the illusion of a complete personality. But they're especially careful about letting any truly private details about their origin and past slip. It's convincing. It's easy to be when you could be anyone.
And it's especially frustrating because Grace has a knack for getting to know people well. They notice things. They watch and listen very closely. They pick up on the smallest of details. And while someone could do the same to them, there's no telling what is and what isn't genuine. They're an excellent actor.
It's not an issue of leaving anyone with a sense of emptiness, confusion, or incompleteness. There is no "I don't really know this person," until the truth comes out. Before then nobody would have any reason to think Grace is lying about anything, but the fact of the matter is this: They are.

I wonder how they would get along with Todd? There's a whole mass of issues right there. I honestly want the Perfects to get to know Grace, like, because they actually go up to the surface too. I think it would be interesting? I mean, the Perfects probably don't need more drama and lies but we're gonna end up doing that anyway soooooo.....!
Another dynamic I'd like to have explored is the potential of Felix and Grace as well.

I think Grace would find the Perfects...interesting, given their bloodline and abilities.
They'd psychoanalyze the hell out of Todd. While they probably wouldn't be able to read him well, if they watched him long enough they'd know he's hiding something. And they'd probably be impressed by how well he's doing it.
Felix on the other hand lol, Grace would be able to read almost flawlessly. They wouldn't magically know all his secrets, but if they were around him at the right time, they'd notice his little changes in behavior when he's angry, sad, whatever. Which truth be told anyone would notice if they know him well enough, but Grace would be able to pinpoint it right away.
Grace is a teenager just like the other surface characters (and this is one thing they don't lie about) but they're seemingly wise beyond their years which can be especially frustrating to those who are only a couple years younger than them at most.

Honestly it's possible Grace could go to school... They're only about a year older than the oldest surface characters at MOST, but it could be a little less honestly. I don't think anyone knows their age for sure, it could be anywhere from 17 to 19 years old.
If they were asked I bet they would, if only out of curiosity. Grace has spent a great deal of time on earth but not getting a traditional education lol.
They may not have much to report to Adam though, if they're only watching them at school. If anything I think that's where the Perfects and Co. put on their best disguises, so to speak.

OC suffering, hurrah!
I've been making my current cast suffer for almost an uninterrupted decade now...but I'm pretty sure half of them wouldn't know what to do with themselves if they weren't miserable. It's part of their identities now. Then again, most of them are a bunch of mercenaries, so miserable sort of goes with the territory.
At least some of them deserve it. Some of the time. Ish.
