That lady who gives you the quest for something seemingly useless, but it ends up being the thing you need for your Sword Of Doom. In other words, Major Player, probably epic level.

Youre the spirit/ghost of a dead figure in the character's life... and you reappear as a faint figure.... and by taunting the character you lead him through parts of the storyline!
