I don't like carrying around cash and I never been to the places that doesn't accept them. Where do you find those places anymore?

Literally everywhere. The McDonalds at the train station doesn't take them, for example. There's a super market on the main street that doesn't take them. The toy shop I used to frequent a lot as a kid still doesn't take them.
And all the little shops, like shops run by a family or specialized shops for tea or wool or some one-euro shops, don't take them. And you wouldn't be able to do anything on a Christmas Market if you didn't have cash on you.

I stopped carrying cash because I had a very long walk to work, over an hour. I didn't want to get mugged walking through downtown or something and lose all my money. Not that I ever was, but it was a fear.

Really, was it that bad? I can't imagine deciding to not carry cash anymore whatever happens.
