Having to move out of the house you've just bought does sound like a pity, but having a larger house with a garden is nice. And I guess you've been living in your current house a few years now?

Being able to make a job out of writing is nice! Since I also now people who write but don't earn enough with it to make a living out of it by far.

Being able to calm down a class as a starting teacher is a good sign! I still remember the starting teachers while I was in high school, that just couldn't keep control. And then there were those that kept the class calm really easily. Though I guess muffins will help :P
Isn't it also kind of nerve-wrecking to have to constantly 'present' in front of the class?

But I'm not sure I'm smart enough for a PhD... But I guess trying won't hurt.

I've been told I just have a calm teacher personality, so I guess the way I speak calms them down? Idk
It's not the 'presenting' that's nerve-wrecking per se, it's whenever a student doesn't understand something I just explained that makes me nervous. It's like, I just explained it, did I do something wrong? Or when something just doesn't work the way I wanted it to.

Yeah, what would be the downside of trying for a PhD? The worst thing that could happen is that you don't get a PhD.

Keeping a class calm is important, so being able to do that is awesome!
But it is normal that a student might not understand after the first time explaining. Everyone's mind works differently, so some people might need a different way of explaining. And as long as the majority of the class does understand it, you're doing fine! Is it difficult to come up with different ways to explain the material?

And I have no idea idea what to do after uni anyway. Except maybe for the oil or mining industry, but for some reason I'm not prepared to sell my soul to them.
I actually had a 4-hour lecture yesterday on metal exploration. But more from an economic/commercial view and not from a geological view which I would have found more interesting. And since I'm not going to get an exam on it or anything, I completely zoned out :mcheh:

Oh, and the Candy Caravan is new isn't it? It has some really nice stuf!

It was never going to be our 'forever' home :) We picked it as an investment because it was a new build and we got it at a bit of a discount, hoping it would increase in value. I think it has done although we haven't had a professional valuation yet. So we're hoping that with the extra cash we'll be able to upgrade to a third bedroom, which we need (one for us, one to be an office/storage, and a nursery). I love it here but it's already too small for us, we have so many things lying on the floors in the corners of rooms now XD

I write for a huge number of businesses anyway haha, I have so many different clients. Some will only want a few articles a month, and since I need to be writing maybe 4-6 a day to hit my earnings goals, I split it across a lot of clients. Also yes, some of them I'm not allowed to name XD

The Candy Caravan is semi-new, although a few items already hit their three-month limit and cycled out. It's a lot of fun though :)

You know, technically I know that that's just how it'll be, but it doesn't stop me from getting nervous at all. :mcheh: It is hard to come up with different ways to explain it, and sometimes you think the way you understand it is the only way anyone could explain it, so that's another hurdle to pass.

God I hate lectures on boring things that don't interest me, there's nothing worse! Could be spending time much more effectively by relaxing at home.

Ooooh I see. Well if it worked out as an investment that's fantastic! I sure hope you get enough money to get your dream home. You planning on sticking with one kid for the moment or do you want more?

That sounds like a boatload of work. But if you're kinda having fun doing it, it's probably all fine, innit?

We're thinking two kids. Have to see how it goes though. You never know, I could die having the first one, after all XD

I love my job, but, well, most importantly it pays XD I'd say it's probably no more work than any normal job. Then again I do have a strong work ethic.

That sounds a bid... uhmmm... Morbid :mcomg: But don't die! Than the kid would have to grow up with only one parent :qf:

With two kids you'd probably want to buy an even larger house later?

I guess that finding different ways to explain things also comes with experience? So, you'll be fine :) You can do it!
I already have enough respect as it is for teachers for being able to stand in front of a class for more than a few minutes without being a nervous wreck...

Btw, Lulu, how was your day yesterday? Had fun with your friend?

I sincerely hope your death in childbirth is more a statistical probability than a realistic one.
Two kids seems like a good number. One might get lonely. But you'll probably have to get a house with two extra rooms when they're teenagers.

Well, yeah. Money sounds pretty good too :'D

Standing in front of a class isn't that hard, honestly. You get used to it pretty fast.
A lot of things are sadly only things you learn with experience. It's going to be a tough few first years.

Oh yeah, I did have fun. We went along the river Main, it was pretty neat.

Wasn't it super scary the first time you had to stand in front of a class? Wondering because I always remember the dread I feel whenever I have to do a presentation...
But it's also going to be a few very instructive years! And I guess you'll not be the only teacher to go through some though few years. So you'll be able to get lots of advice from your colleagues?

Aah, money. The thing I will probably start earning in some far future and which will immediately fly off towards my student's debt

Sounds nice! And rivers are always pretty.
I've actually been to Frankfurt once. Didn't go past the train station though...

You get a bit nervous, but I think you maybe just get used to it really quickly? Also because it's usually not like a presentation. Usually the students get exercises inbetween and you get to help them do those, which is cool becauseyou get to know the students a bit better too.
Yeah, I certainly won't be the only one. I'm more worried about getting on with my future colleagues than getting on with the kids :mcheh:

Looks like you got to see the more ugly part then :/ Frankfurt is pretty interesting when you look at it from the river, because you have a layer of old buildings and then behind them the modern skyscrapers.
