I had a nightmare that I hadn't washed my hair yet and I was hosting a party at my house and I was freaking out. It takes me forever (or feels that way) to wash and dry my hair so I get that. LoL

Haha, I'm glad I'm not the only one for which that is a major event in the day that takes up time :D
I got derailed by first posting on here some more and then my bf saying we should make dinner though. Now I've had dinner, but I still need to wash my hair. Not sure if I'll get any more sewing done today at this rate, but we'll see.

I'm back! Yes, my dinner was quite nice :) We had some fishsticks, spinach and mashed potatoes.
Hope your toast satisfied you!
I'm not sure if I'll do any more sewing today. First I have a nice glass of freshly pressed blood orange juice to enjoy, leftovers from our easter breakfast yesterday. (As in, I didn't press all the oranges yesterday, so I had two left that I pressed just now)

That juice sounds delicious. The toast was okay but not enough so I'm about to make myself a bean and cheese burrito. :mcheh: :qh:

Haha, by total coincidence I had a shower this morning and then J rang just as I was finishing my hair to say that there was a tattoo convention he wanted to go to and he would be home in 45 minutes to pick me up to go there. I ended up just tying my hair back and leaving it wet because 45 mins isn't enough time to dry and style it satisfactorily :'D

Okay, photos!
My sampler
The embroidery artist I was inspired by. She's actually more of a traditional artist and I love her style. I own a few stickers which she printed in the past. Every now and then I go and buy a new one xD but I really love how she mixes traditional art with the embroidery so I'm giving it a try. Her other examples of embroidery feature nudity, just a warning XD
I haven't done photos of the new project yet!

I'm stupid, I forgot to take my hair out of my t-shirt turban in time, now it's still quite wet but I need to go to bed -.- Oh well, I hope it'll dry by tomorrow morning anyway...

I already saw your sampler on instagram, it's looking very neat! And I love the colour palette, right up my alley.
The mix of drawn and embroidered art really looks cool! Looking forward to seeing what you'll make of it :)
I especially like the pieces of her that are more like full body shots with the hair embroidered, they look really good. Although I'm not super keen on the shiny highlights on the skin.

Wow, that is a beautiful start to your sampler JG!! I love the beads you added in as well.

The artist that inspired you is also awesome - love the rainbow colored hair on the one piece you showed us!

PS Chrizine I do that all the time - towel turban and then start doing something and get distracted and forget to remove it. LoL

Thanks both :D
Yeah I love her way of embroidering the hair. Although I'm trying not to be a copycat so I decided to draw everything and then embroider the background only, and maybe some lines like the eyelashes.

Sounds like a nice plan!
You could also go and embroider all the line art, that might look neat as well :)
