I usually see them at accessory stores like claires. They're usually priced around 8 to 12 US dollars.
A few of our birds: bald eagle, loon, ducks X3, falcons, grouse, hawks, morning doves, turkeys, owls, etc, etc lol

Oh, but Claire's is darn expensive xD
Aaaaand uses horrible feathers. They are most probably mass produced, either fake or very bird unfriendly, and they are bloody weak. I fortify my feathers to withstand the Dutch weather and so far it's worked.
Bald eagles you're shitting me! *o*
And hawks and falcons and owls and and and... man I'd die to go feather hunting there >>

Yeah lol, personally I don't like claires. But for the good ones ( at other stores ) that's usually the price.
Yeah we have some pretty cool birds here. I once went on a road trip and we counted 45 eagles on the way. It was pretty freakin' amazing.

I used to love Claire's, but indeed. I don't like it as much anymore. Not by far. It's way too expensive, they're stuff is broken or ugly in no time, and it's just not my style anymore. I want to make my own jewelry. <3
45 eagles? I have never seen one in my life even though I've worked at the most famous bird park in Holland o.O

Yeah It used to be my favorite accessory store, but not anymore, best of luck to their stores.
Wow not any? That's unfortunate. The 45 was on our way to wisconsin, they have them there too.
I just saw a cardinal outside :D

A cardinal, as if it's nothing! My god!
Not unfortunate, it's merely living in the wrong place. We only have birds in 'boring' shades, just brown, black, white, and grey. Sometimes a tiny shade of red or yellow, or, thank god we have corvids, a blue / green reminiscence. As for corvids we don't have ravens, very little jays, a few corvids, and to my great joy quite some magpies and jackdaws. I think I'd die if we didn't have our maggies on the streets. xD

In the summer I usually see a cardinal maybe once every 2-3 weeks. They're such beautiful birds. I remember when I was little I saw a few bluejays, but I haven't seen any of those for a long time unfortunately. Those were one of my favorite birds.
Seems like you still have some fun there with those birds :) what do you do when you go feather hunting? I usually don't see any feathers around here, just the birds.

I wish I could see them out here. :(
Well you need to be lucky, and you need to look hard. My parents are always on the lookout for me when they go walk the dog :)
But the most important thing is the time. At the moment ducks are losing a shitload of feathers for example. But the rest of the year there's nothing I can do >>
Except for the occasional time my jackdaw attacks my canary and I have to maneuver a few canary feathers out of his beak. But yeah that's not the way I like to go at it. x'D

Maybe I'll take some pictures next time I see some and upload them here :)
Ahh ducks. I love 'em :D Do you use their feathers too? Lol sounds like they don't like each other very much. I hope they don't get very injured when those occasions do come up. How do you wash the feathers before you use them for things like jewelry? Sorry for the mini interrogation lol I'm a curious person ^_^'

That would be awesome :D
I love birds, I think it's such a shame that we have so little species here...
Yep, definitely! Especially the male Mallard secondaries are beautiful. Do you know these feathers?
http://www.lab.fws.gov/featheratlas/ima ... y_male.jpg
They are dropping these right now. I am really happy with those, I think I'm gonna use them in that diadem I was talking about. :D Well I don't think it's a case of liking each other. It's a case of Sully liking to... 'play'. :')
Up to now Shaw hasn't been injured very much, just lost some tail feathers. And well, a canary can never injure a jackdaw. I believe a lot of things, but a fragile little puppet like that can't even damage a feather of a tough streetrat like that - Sully is like 50x the size of Shaw. ;D
I spray them with what has never let me down when it comes to fixation and fortification; hairspray. It's like liquid duct tape for it's cause. :p
It's so simple, but accessories bought in stores have never been treated with anything and just get ugly so quickly. Just like those little gems in piercings, do you know that issue? You lose them in no time. Here a little bit of transparent nail polish or nail fortifier works wonders. :D
I just don't understand why they don't do that at the factory >>
It's okay, I like answering questions. ^_^
