its still hot here. the rain cooled it a bit but i'm still like ugh. it might continue to rain later. or tomorrow. bc that hurricane over in the States has pushed a few storms our way. lol

Infrastructure is so expensive to upgrade and maintain, no-one wants to reassign the taxes to cover it, so it's been getting worse all over, really. Takes a major catastrophe to change that, because then there's suddenly all this attention and focus on it, and there's aid to cover the costs and it has to get replaced anyhow, so it gets replaced up to the current standards at least.
Which honestly is usually more expensive than maintaining it properly to begin with, but the cost is spread out differently and there's less public resistance to it.
Weird People Emotions beat out pragmatic logic once again.
We humans are so strange sometimes.
My own community is much the same.
We can see it happening, but every time anyone tries to practically address matters, everyone balks at the price tag and it's back to the slow slide towards obsolescence once again.

The sun is out today. Which is great I guess. Lol. But it’s still warm. Not sure the temp tho.

It was over 100 degrees yesterday, a man with no air conditioning died in his house because it was so hot. The sheriff made an announcement that people that don't have AC need to go somewhere that does because it's so dangerous right now. I'm NOT looking forward to August.

I dunno how hot that is in Celsius lol. It’s currently 24c right now. Which isn’t really that hot but I’m like blech.

Do you know the conversion? I've always wanted to learn but my American brain can only do so much.

I don't think many people know the conversion though.
I distinguish between hot and not hot and that's usually enough to have a conversation.
